Dr. Devendra Singh Chaplot is a Research Scientist at Mistral AI, where he is focused on building the next generation of AI models. Previously, he served as a Research Scientist at Facebook AI Research, working at the intersection of Computer Vision and Robotics. He holds a Ph.D. from the Machine Learning Department at Carnegie Mellon University, where he conducted research on building intelligent autonomous navigation agents under the guidance of Prof. Ruslan Salakhutdinov and in collaboration with Abhinav Gupta and Saurabh Gupta. Before pursuing his Ph.D., Devendra earned his B.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering, with a minor in Applied Statistics, from IIT Bombay, where he worked with Prof. Pushpak Bhattacharyya. He also has industry experience, having worked at Samsung Electronics HQ in South Korea.
